I really enjoyed seeing the difference that framing a shot with the rule of thirds in mind makes on a composition. It definitely makes the shot more visually interesting and I find it puzzling because the shots really aren't that different. The small variation makes a huge difference on the overall composition.
One observation that I made was that I frequently moved the subject to the right of the frame. I didn't consciously do this but seeing them all lined up next to each other it is very evident.
Wow I have to say very awesome examples of rule of thirds. I also liked that you gave more than one example. I look forward to seeing your other assignment.
ReplyDeleteYou picked a lot of great subjects for examples of the rule of thirds here. I particularly like the bird house and the bird feeder that you used in our first week. I also found that I tended to move my subjects to the right of center for this assignment. I wonder if there is any psychology behind that sort of subconscious decision.
ReplyDeleteInteresting, I'm the same as Jen, I noticed I moved my subjects to the right as well.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the wind chime, once you moved it to the third, we were able to see the beautiful post and beam ceiling - details we could not see when the chime was centered.
